Hello lovelies ❤
During the Priceline sale I saw that NYX Cosmetics had these new eyeshadow palettes out and when I swatched the testers in store, I nearly bought both of them the nude one and the smokey one. I did restrain myself though and only got the 101 in nude!
Packaging
The packaging is very slim and small, which would be perfect to travel with or have in your purse. They really did not waste any space in this palette and it magnetically closes, which both are pluses in my book. I personally really dislike the name of the palette, as it feels like they are promoting dropping out of school is cool. I am so against this, so hopefully they are more conscious with their branding from now on.
Price
It is an amazing value for what you pay for. They originally retail for $12 AUD and you get 6 eyeshadows each weighing 1.7 g. Can you imagine how affordable it would be if you buy it on sale? Really good price point in my opinion.
Shade Selection
I like the shade selection but I also think they could have done better. The eyeshadow palette has 3 shimmery shades and 3 matte shades.
The 3 shimmery shades are similar where most people would think it is not worth it. You might like this palette if you are a person who likes minimal eyeshadow looks and having a slightly different look suits your needs. I personally like this palette for work days where I just want a minimal eyeshadow look. I would have preferred to have a light shimmery shade for the inner corners though…
The 3 matte shades does the job for me but I think it would have been better if the white shade was a cream eyeshadow as it looks too stark next to the other shades and fails the purpose of being an eyebrow highlight or blending shade. The darkest shade is not so dark either but I think it was their purpose to make a palette that provides minimal eyeshadow looks. Also, I rarely reach for deep dark shades on the daily so this suits my needs!
Quality
I added this palette to my weekly basket last week and made sure I used each shade, which wasn’t so hard to do considering how neutral and natural they were. I was surprised to find that the mattes worked so beautifully and much better than the shimmery shades. I loved how well the mattes blended and applied on my eyes. The shimmery shades applied well on the eyes as well but they lack lustre, which depends on how you like your makeup could be a good or bad thing. I personally don’t mind it for minimal eye looks but it is not something I would reach for if I want something dramatic.
Unfortunately the eyeshadows don’t build on themselves well, for example I tried mixing the golden shade with the matte white to make a light shimmery inner corner and that didn’t work.
I also noticed that the bronzey and golden shade were more shimmery than the peachy rose gold one.
Overall
I do recommend it as I really enjoyed using it and the eye looks that I made with it, but I also think it isn’t for everyone. The shades are not unique and they always provide a low key eyeshadow look, but the packaging and shade selection makes it a great on the go palette or travelling palette.
Have you tried it or would you think about trying it?

Thank you so much 💕 means a lot to me that you can notice my honesty! I was surprised when I found it in store as well. I don’t think they have advertised much considering how they usually advertise their other eyeshadow palette. Maybe it is still quite new? 🤔
